How it works
From prep list
to packout.
One platform. Four complete workflows. No new kitchen language.
Four complete workflows
Every part of your kitchen, connected.
ChefOS covers production execution, inventory and purchasing, label compliance, and AI-powered reporting — each as a first-class workflow, not an afterthought.
Track 1
Production Execution
From a Parsley PDF to cooks working their stations and managers watching progress — six steps, no re-entry.
Upload from your recipe software.
Export the Sub-Recipe Summary PDF your team already generates — from Parsley, ChefTec, or any recipe platform. No new files, no re-formatting. The workflow you have is the one ChefOS reads.
Upload the PDF to ChefOS.
Drop in the file and let ChefOS parse it in about 30 seconds. Review the import — recipe count, meal count, any flagged rows — before sending work to stations. Nothing fires until you confirm.
Recipes auto-sort to stations.
Category and prefix rules route work to Protein, Cold Prep, Sauce, Packing, and more. Every cook sees only their list. Nobody hunts for their page or cross-checks another station's column.
Staff log in and get to work.
PIN login gets each cook into the right station view in seconds. Recipes move from not started to in progress to complete. No shared logins, no wrong views, no time lost navigating.
Managers watch production move.
Progress bars, shortage alerts, and station status update live on the manager dashboard. The floor is visible without leaving the screen. One glance replaces ten check-in laps.
Pack with confidence.
Meal sizes sit side by side. Color-coded scoop cues guide the line. Allergen badges surface immediately so no meal ships without the right warnings. The manager dashboard shows food cost per cover in real time. Every meal gets checked off before it leaves the pass.
Track 2
Inventory & Purchasing
Count inventory, get manager approval, generate orders from your guide, and receive goods against a PO — all in one system.
Open a count session.
Start a structured count session for a location. Fill quantities line by line as you walk the shelves. ChefOS saves your progress automatically — pick up where you left off if you're interrupted.
Manager reviews and approves.
Complete the count and submit for review. The manager sees variance against par for every line. If something looks off, they can unlock the count for correction. Once approved, the snapshot is locked to your records.
Generate your order.
From your order guide, ChefOS auto-suggests what to order based on inventory gaps versus par. Or generate a purchase plan directly from your next production event — what you need to produce the run, minus what you have on hand.
Receive and reconcile.
PO is sent to the supplier. When goods arrive, record received quantities per line. ChefOS flags variances between ordered and received — so you know exactly what came in short before production starts.
Track 3
Labels & Compliance
Design once, auto-fill at print time, and send a batch job — FDA-compliant labels without a spreadsheet in sight.
Design your label template.
Build a label template with custom dimensions and layout. Set which FDA fields appear and where — nutrition facts panel, ingredient statement, allergen declaration, best-by date, net weight. One template covers all recipes that use it.
Auto-populate at print time.
Select a recipe, enter the production date — ChefOS auto-fills nutrition facts, the ingredient statement ordered descending by weight, allergen declarations, and the best-by date calculated from shelf-life days set on the recipe. No copy-paste, no manual lookup.
Queue and print.
Send a batch print job to your label printer. Each job is tracked by ID — you can see queue status, reprint a job, or check what was printed and when. Compatible with standard thermal label printers.
Track 4
Reporting & AI
Ask questions in plain English, get grounded answers with source citations, and pull structured reports — all from your live kitchen data.
Ask anything.
Type a question in plain English. The AI searches your live recipe and ingredient data — not generic knowledge. Ask about food cost impact, ingredient substitutions, margin on specific meals, or anything tied to your actual numbers.
Grounded answers with sources.
Responses stream in with source citations — which recipes, which pricing records, which production numbers the answer drew from. No hallucinated numbers. Every figure is traceable back to your data.
Pull structured reports.
Generate margin analysis, inventory valuation, waste summary, purchase history, or count comparison from the Reports tab. Every report exports to CSV for your accounting system or leadership review.
